Wellness Coaching
What is Wellness?
The word “Wellness” is generally used to mean a healthy balance of the mind, body and spirit that results in an overall feeling of well-being.
Wellness is living in balance and harmony through lifestyle choices that are sustainable and life-enhancing at physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental and relational levels. Wellness comes from a life-enhancing response to one's values, passions, desires, interests, goals, skills, gifts, what feeds, what drains, what brings peace.

What is Wellness Coaching?
Wellness Coaching is an individualized and systematic coaching process focused on making sustainable lifestyle change whether it relates to stress management, life/work balance, movement, nutrition or thriving with a health challenge.
Even when a change in lifestyle behavior is wanted or called for, even when the steps seem obvious, it can be hard, at times too hard. We get to a point where we’ve tried and failed enough. We realize we really don’t know how to do it. We arrive at a point where we surrender and admit, “I need help with this..”
Our beneficent angst and frustration drive us to imagine what help would look like. “I want to work with someone who will really listen and be on my side. Someone I feel safe with.” The vision gets even clearer. “Someone with a method that works but is individualized just for me, because I know I’m not like anybody else. Yeah.” Knowing you’re on a roll, you continue designing and calling forth the help you’re ready for. “This person honors me for who I am and doesn’t push some pre-conceived idea of what my success and process will look like. With this helper or coach, I am guided, supported, and kindly challenged to go deeper when I try to gloss over things or sabatage myself as I can do. Our sessions are about me and for me.” Maybe you get teary at the power of the truth you are proclaiming. Feeling relief and standing centered in your truth, you affirm, “I deserve this and I want this. I’m ready for a new way.”
Can you relate?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have someone who would really listen and guide you to the lifestyle change you desire for your well-life vision? An ally who would work with you starting right where you are to devise and carry out a plan that honors your whole self, and that you could sustain? Your own personal advocate who would accompany, cheer, guide and support you on your transformative journey? That is what you can count on when you embark on your wellness coaching journey coaching with me.

What Is 360°™ Mapping Methodology?
In my personal experience as a client working with people hired to help me with personal growth issues, the greatest changes have occurred when I felt they accepted me right where I was and started there. While relatively few of those who arrive at coaching are ready to jump in and start changing, the vast majority of Health and Wellness Coaching programs today are designed assuming that. The 360°™ Mapping Methodology, however, is different.
To get to Wellness, we consider the whole of your life: from health, work, stress-management and relationships, to spirituality, fun and food. Lasting change comes from within and this coaching methodology views you as the expert on yourself and as naturally creative, resourceful and whole.
The changes you desire might require minor adjustments or significant new behaviors. There is no right way. What Wellness looks like to you will be unique to you. My honor and privilege is to support and guide you to the changes you desire for yourself and your life. What distinguishes the 360°™ Mapping Methodology from other methods of health and wellness coaching is the integration of the ‘Readiness for Change’ transtheoretical model developed by James Prochaska. He spent over 40 years researching how people change and what stages they go through to get there.
In the 360°™ Mapping Methodology, I assess where you are in the spectrum of readiness, and we co-create a plan based on that. For example, if you are contemplating a specific change, you receive support in going through that thought process: Why you want to, why you don’t, what’s at risk, what would be the costs. Upon arriving at your own “Yes”, you receive help to identify what you would need to do in preparation of creating your desired new behaviors and habits. These are just two of the five stages of readiness for change. You will receive support and guidance with a plan, your actions, and sustainability.

My
Approach to Coaching
I’ve been passionate about helping others to believe in their freedom and power to choose and create their own paths to wellness since I was sixteen. My coaching is a synthesis of everything I’ve learned over the years, from involvement with Woman Within International, studying medical models and steps of healing with Susun Weed, college research on the History and Evolution of Modern Medicine, the long-thriving Voluntary Simplicity Support Group I founded, cooking professionally, and listening deeply as the creator of LifeWorks video memoirs. My priority and dedication is living in accordance with my values, creativity, inner work, health and nourishment. Add to this the marvellous and effective health & wellness coach training I’ve received, and there is a fine recipe for guiding and supporting others to ahieve the lifestyle changes they dream of!
I am dedicated to helping you live your life deeply, creatively and sustainably. The changes you desire might require minor adjustments or significant new behaviors. There is no right way or timeframe. What Wellness looks like to you will be unique to you. My honor and privilege is to support and guide you in the changes you desire for yourself and your life.
My area of focus is helping others who want to take better care of themselves – something that so many of us want and yet struggle with, and which shows up in every aspect of our lives.
To get to “Wellness,” we consider the whole of one’s life: from health, work, stress-management and relationships, to spirituality, fun and food. As ally and cheerleader, I guide a process that honors one’s inner wisdom, dreams and goals to create a well-balanced lifestyle that brings them peace, wellness, happiness and success.
I love this approach because it matches my conviction that lasting change comes from within and that nothing is separate. The process I use views clients as the experts on themselves and as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. I get to use my creativity, intuition and training to help others create a plan that is doable and that includes accountability to themselves. Like all journeys, there are surprising curves and hills, obstacles, fears and excitement. I accompany and guide my clients to evaluate and navigate every step of the way towards new lifestyle behaviors becoming integrated into their lives.
